POSITION OVERVIEW:
Perform and oversee all laboratory analysis of juices and wine, coordinate wine movements between wine maker and production department, and help in production tasks.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in chemistry, agronomy, crop science, or related degree and/or 12 months of lab analysis experience. Ability to use a personal computer.

POSITION DUTIES:
* Winemaking Functions - In charge of all lab analysis on juices and wines - Help coordinate daily wine movement work orders - Regularly update (daily, weekly, monthly) wine movement records and varietal files - Prepare yeast inoculates and monitor all fermentations * Inventory Control - Enter monthly computer records of bulk wine inventory, and reconcile to physical inventory - Prepare monthly bulk inventory reports for use in BATF and TABC tax statements - Maintain and update inventory of competition wines * Miscellaneous Duties - Help with production tasks (crush/press, bottling, wine movements) and vineyard work as time allows - Perform wine tastings and wine classes - Study winery technology and research to improve quality and efficiency of all winemaking functions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift 50 pounds from floor to 4 feet, climb ladders, and move on top of tanks.

NECESSARY SKILLS Ability to operate a personal computer. Good lab analysis skills.

Villa Manager/Innkeeper

The Villa manager will manage all aspects of the bed and breakfast property, including sales, bookkeeping and maintenance. The Villa Manager will also work closely with Messina Hof Retail and Messina Hof Vintage House and Designer Events to promote and sell special events, products and services for all Messina Hof departments.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Experience in management, retail or a related field working closely with the public. Prefer previous experience managing Bed & Breakfast or Hotel Management. Must have excellent people skills. Skilled in inside and outside sales.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift 40 pounds from floor to waist. Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.

Winebar Manager

This exempt position will be responsible for the growth, direction, and maintenance of The Winebar at Messina Hof.  The purpose of the Messina Hof Guest Center is to welcome visitors of Messina Hof as family guests in to the Messina Hof “living room” and to embrace them as personal friends of our Messina Hof family.  The Winebar is the Messina Hof family table where we assist our guest in any way possible in selection, education, and consultation.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Related degree and/or 3-5 years of related experience.  Ability to use a personal computer.

Villa Assistant Manager

The Villa Assistant Manager will manage all aspects of the bed and breakfast property, including sales, hospitality, bookkeeping, and maintenance in the absence of the Innkeepers. The Villa Assistant Manager will also work closely with Messina Hof Retail and Messina Hof Vintage House and Designer Events to promote and sell special events, products and services for all Messina Hof departments.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Experience in management, retail or a related field working closely with the public. Prefer previous experience in Bed and Breakfast or Hotel Management. Must have excellent people skills. Skilled in inside and outside sales. Skilled in e-mail, phone, and computer usage. Food Handlers  Certificate required and have excellent breakfast cooking skills. Monday through Thursday work schedule (may include overnight stay) each week plus one weekend per month.

Villa Housekeeper
Part-time. Will be responsible for the upkeep and inventory of the rooms at the Villa Bed & Breakfast and preparing breakfast for Villa guests.  Duties will include up to five overnight stays per week as needed..

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Related experience in cleaning and housekeeping.  Able to perform set-up and wait staff duties as needed. Maintain laundry inventory. Must have excellent people skills and ability to assist guests with their needs.  Food Handlers’ Certificate required and must have excellent breakfast cooking skills.  Flexible work schedule as needed.

Retail Associate

Responsible for the increase in retail sales of Messina Hof wines at the winery, the care of the physical center, and the hospitality of the guests.  This person is the host for our guests.  The purpose of the Messina Hof guest center is to welcome visitors of Messina Hof as family guests in to the Messina Hof “living room” and to embrace them as personal friends of our Messina Hof family.

Waitstaff

This part-time position is responsible for customer service in the Vintage House as well as the overall cleanliness and maintenence of the Vintage House. Messina Hof hospitality representative.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Previous waitstaff experience. Great customer service and communication skills. Ability to use a personal computer for register transactions. Good team worer and the ability to work a flexible schedule.

POSITION DUTIES:
Take all orders for food and wine at Vintage House. Service and presentation of Vintage House meals and wine in a professional, friendly manner.
Interact with Vintage House staff as a team to provide great customer service.
Opening and closing procedures including cleaning and stocking for the next shift.
Facilitates Messina Hof's high standards of cleanliness and customer service.
Other duties as designated.
