Chocolate Flan Cake
Chocolate cake mix, see recipe
1 cup white sugar
¾ cups heavy cream
½ tbsp vanilla
3 eggs
1 yolk
1 cup sugar
¼ cup sweetened condensed milk
1 ½ oz cream cheese
2 tbsp Messina Hof Ivory ports of Call
Sprinkle ½ cup of sugar into a sauce pan and cook on low heat until amber colored, pour into cake pan.
Place cream and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. In blender mix eggs, yolks, remaining sugar, condensed milk, cream cheese, and wine.
Stir into cream mixture.
Pour chocolate cake mixture into a greased 9 inch cake pan over the top of the caramel. Fill about ¾ of the way up the pan. Slowly pour the flan mixture over the chocolate mixture. Fill until about ½ of the empty space is filled. Spray aluminum foil with cooking spray and cover top. Place into a water bath and bake at 350 degrees until cake is firm.
Chocolate Cake
2/3 cup cocoa
1 1/3 cup flour
1 tsp Baking soda
¼ tsp salt
1 ¼ cup sugar
¼ cup oil
2 egg whites
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup water
In a bowl mix cocoa, flour, baking soda and salt.
In a mixer with the paddle attachment mix sugar, oil, egg whites, vanilla and water. Slowly add flour mixture.
