The Visiting Chef Program allows specially invited chefs throughout the state of Texas to educate guests as well as bring their own signature techniques and flavors to Messina Hof's Cooking Parties.
Our Visiting Chef's introduce their recipes with a unique style and taste by creating their own menu that reflects their personal specialties and cooking backgrounds. Each meal is enhanced as it is paired with Messina Hof's award-winning wines. Every Chef has a secret ingredient or cooking tip to share! Messina Hof's Visiting Chef Program began back in 1990!
Classes begin at 2:30pm and last two to three hours. Not only will guests have the opportunity to learn, cook and drink, but they will also discover what makes each visiting chef's restaurant expectional.
Chef Marcus Hollingsworth comes from a diverse culinary background. He got his start cooking professionally in the early 90's training under Michio Kushi - trained Macrobiotic chef-to-the-stars Gloria Olmstead.
He has been a chef in some of the most competitive markets in the US, including the Southern California Resort scene, Portland Oregon's sustainably-grown lcoal produce approach to both Italian and French cuisines, Arizona's Southwestern food and now Texas' Southern food with hints of Cajun flair.
He has won dozens of awards, most recenlty winning the Flavors of Central Texas Top Chef honors, has published nearly 100 food columns. He is currently the Executive Chef at the Shilo Inn in Killeen, Texas where he is setting new food standards at
"The Mark" Restaurant.
