Goat Cheese and Apple Bruschetta
Every special event at Messina Hof features great food and wine pairings. One of my recent favorites was the goat cheese and apple bruschetta. At the Bounty in our own Backyard dinner, we featured Veldhuisen and Wateroak Farms cheeses. This particular dish was a spread of apple chucks sautéed in Gewurztraminer and baked in a ramekin under a layer of creamy Wateroak farms goat cheese. The cheese was then carmelized and served with toast points. It was the perfect pairing with the Merrill’s Vineyard Riesling which is our dry Riesling. WOW.
