TV Dinners and Wine

Back by popular demand!  We started testing the t.v. dinners with wine again.  Tonight we experienced the MediumKashi Chicken Florentine.  It features grilled chicken brest with spinach, sweet red peppers, and tiny mushrooms served over whole grains and sesame with orzo pilaf in a garlic white wine sauce.  The strongest flavors were the garlic, peppers and spinach.  We tasted it with several different varieties and enjoyed it most with the Riesling, Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, Mama Rosa Rose’, and Cabernet Sauvignon.   The mushrooms, peppers, and whole wheat orzo really make the red wines work with this dish.  Most people would have paired a white since it is chicken dish.
