Wine and Healthy Choice Salisbury Steak

I thought this would go well with the dry reds and they were in fact ok but not great. Reds sometime take on a metallic taste when paired with something salty and this combination was on the edge. The Salisbury Steak did not highlight the wines at all. We tasted this with the Private Reserve Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, White Zinfandel, Beau Jolee, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Franc – all Messina Hof, of course. Those that showed best were the Chenin Blanc, White Zinfandel, and Beau Jolee. The Merlot and Cabernet France were ok but the food did not do the wine justice. I look for the food to make the wine the star. If you are a Salisbury Steak dinner fan, please share your favorite wine pairings.
