Calling All Artist!

02.01.19

Want to see your artwork featured on a bottle of wine?
Submit your art in the Texas Artist Wine Label Competition!

The 29th Annual Messina Hof Texas Artist Wine Label Competition is the centerpiece of the 35th Annual Wine & Roses Festival on April 13, 2019. Each year artists enter their work for a chance to be featured on Messina Hof’s Artist Series wine labels.

We are excited to announce this year’s theme is Glamour…

Glamour is the attractive or exciting quality that makes certain people or things appear special. In the sense of wine, glamour is perhaps the fascination with the romantic and often elegant processes of harvesting, blending, or tasting of wine – it could also be the wine’s history, body, fragrances or the balance of it all. American author, Carolyn Gold Heilbrun once said, “Romance is the glamour which turns the dust of everyday life into a golden haze.” When searching for inspiration, think about what part of your life turns the mundane into a stunning picture of glamour. Check out last year’s winner on Serenity…

Ray Kingsbury won last year’s Texas Wine Label Competition and his work is now being featured on Serenity. Serenity is a light bodied, dry white blend with subtle bursts of crisp citrus blossom on the nose. Mellow notes of ginger and melon come together on the palate with bright acidity followed by a refreshing finish. Pairs well with steamed lobster or roasted sea bass with lemon and herbs.
