To kick off Go Texan Month in October, Messina Hof Winery & Resort will be hosting an intimate dinner with food writer and author, John DeMers on Saturday, September 25, 2010. Guests will explore fine wines, a stunning meal and engaging stories with Mr. DeMers himself about his newest publication Marfa Shadows.
The event will include a wine and cheese reception at 6:30pm followed by a 4-course dinner at 7:00pm, which will be perfectly paired with wines.
• Country Fried Texas Quail set on a bed of baby greens and topped with a Sweet Corn and Sauvignon Blanc Red Onion Marmalade.

• Baby Spinach Salad with candied bacon and Ivory Bleu Cheese Vinaigrette.

• Texas Wagyu Short Rib Cabernet braised and presented with a Roasted Poblano Grit Cake and grilled Vegetables.

• Molton Chocolate Cake with a Chili Ganache topped with Chantilly Cream finished with a Port Wine Reduction.

With the price of $69.95 per person (plus 6.75% tax and gratuity), guests will find a fine and relating atmosphere of intriguing conversation and an entrancing meal.
