Dogs Just Want to Have Fun!

06.18.14

FREDERICKSBURG, Texas – Bring Your Dog to the Winery on July 4th, and you and your dog will have a howling good time together as you join other animal lovers, and wine lovers, to celebrate Independence Day at Messina Hof Hill Country Winery in Fredericksburg, Texas. The event will be from 1-5PM on the beautiful winery grounds, located at 9996 US Highway 290 East.Part of the proceeds from this event will benefit Pedernales Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), a non-profit that provides no-cost spay/neuter to companion animal owners residing in Gillespie County, and manages a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program for community cats. To date, PAWS, an all-volunteer organization, has spayed or neutered over 11,000 dogs and cats at no cost to their caregivers. Jennifer Harper, Event Manager at Messina Hof, says, “PAWS deserves recognition and help for their work in reducing overpopulation, and thus animal cruelty and neglect.”

In addition to tastings of award-winning Messina Hof wines, food will be available too, as well as wholesome dog treats.

Live music will be provided by the Raggedy Cats, a 40’s Swing and 50’s Rock band, that plays the music you really want to hear.

In addition to great music, there will be vendors, a silent auction, and a costume contest for pets. The City of Fredericksburg Animal Shelter will be on site, with some wonderful dogs looking for a forever home. Yvonne Gerhardt, the shelter manager, will be doing microchipping for $10.00 per dog. Yvonne tells us that a microchip is the best way to ensure that your pet gets home if they should be lost.

Please have your dogs on a leash, in a stroller, or otherwise restrained.

See you there! July 4th, 1-5PM, Bring Your Dog to the Winery.
