Events at Messina Hof

08.22.11

Messina Hof is a place of experiences. Each time a guest comes to spend time with us, we want them to leave reluctantly and desire to return as soon as possible. Weddings are a perfect opportunity to offer additional activities for the guests and bridal party to make the their experience a total vacation experience. Each event is uniquely designed to a theme or food experience that appeals to the bride and groom.

Our most popular events are our Murder Mysteries where guests are the characters and are encouraged to dress up in costume. Over the course of dinner or hors d’heouvres, the guests reveal and conceal clues that leads them to the murderer. These make great ice breakers as rehearsal dinners or pre-wedding get to know everyone’s family and friends events. We actually had one bride that did a murder mystery as her wedding ceremony and reception. She picked the theme and everything we did from game to food tied to that theme.

Bachelorette Aphrodisiac Cooking Parties with the Chef are fun, educational, and certainly pleases the groom to be that his bride is learning how to cook!

My husband and winemaker Paul Bonarrigo is an event in himself. He is also an ordained minister with the Universal Church and officiates weddings at the winery.

Harvest is such a busy time at the winery. It is a time when most wineries close their doors to keep guests away. Messina Hof opens their doors and invites the public to participate. We offer harvest wedding packages that include harvest activities for the guests during the day, special themed dinners on Friday and Saturday evenings, and Sunday brunch. Special themed dinners include Dinner in the Wine Cellar with strolling violin, Enchanting Evening of Romance and Dance, Tasting with the Winemaker, Wine and Chocolate Pairing, etc. Harvest is new beginning – the celebration of the birth of a new vintage. What a perfect wedding backdrop! Everyone in engaged; everyone has fun; memories and photo-ops galore are captured.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,

Merrill
