Our Fourth Winery Location Expands Our Presence to Greater Houston

Texas’ most awarded winery, Messina Hof, has officially opened our fourth location at the agricultural-based farm community of Harvest Green, established by famed Houston-based Johnson Development Corp. in Richmond, TX. Messina Hof Harvest Green Winery & Kitchen is set to be the Greater Houston area’s largest winery, featuring an expansive tasting room, full-service restaurant, and increased wine production support.

A reflection of the modern evolution of Messina Hof’s winery concepts, Messina Hof Harvest Green Winery & Kitchen features an expansive tasting room and 83-foot wine bar, full-service restaurant, covered patio, and two private tasting rooms, in addition to a wine production and barrel room and wine warehouse.

“The expansion of our business with the addition of Messina Hof Harvest Green Winery & Kitchen is a continuation of our vision to innovate and grow Texas wine,” said Messina Hof Chief Executive Officer and Winemaker, Paul M. Bonarrigo. “We look forward to inviting new guests and familiar faces alike into our doors and to our tables to experience our top-notch hospitality, innovative Vineyard Cuisine™, and signature Texas wine.”

A Welcoming Kitchen Using Local Produce

Messina Hof will continue our dedication to wine and culinary education through the use of Harvest Green’s local neighborhood farm, creating fresh and intriguing menu items. Our notable Vineyard CuisineTM concept incorporates our wine with locally harvested herbs and vegetables into each dish, and it will be served at the Messina Hof Harvest Green Winery & Kitchen.

Guests will be able to enjoy new, inventive creations like Petite Sirah Poached Pear Salad, Pork Chop with Fig Agrodulce, and Seasonal Bread Pudding. Fresh-baked Neapolitan-style pizzas will be made in a showstopping, oversized Mugnaini Wood Fired Pizza Oven, offering guests the heartfelt Italian style of cooking and entertaining.

A Next-Level Production and Shipping Facility

Messina Hof Harvest Green Winery & Kitchen will become Messina Hof’s second-largest facility complete with onsite vineyards and wine processing. The new location will also house all direct-to-consumer (DTC) shipping operations for the company.

“There couldn’t be a more perfect marriage between a master-planned community and winery,” said Jerry Ulke, Harvest Green General Manager. “With our onsite farm and vineyard, Harvest Green is an ideal choice for this newest Messina Hof venture. They are a very welcome addition, and their beautiful winery and exquisite wines will greatly enhance our resident lifestyle.”

Messina Hof Harvest Green Winery & Kitchen is the culmination of a multi-year project crafted by owners Paul M. Bonarrigo and Karen Bonarrigo, and it is the most elaborate winery expansion in Messina Hof Wine Cellars, Inc.’s 43-year history.

Introducing Augmented Reality Wine Labels

To commemorate the grand opening of Messina Hof Harvest Green Winery & Kitchen, we recently partnered with Houston-based VISION Production Group to create Texas’ first augmented reality (AR) wine labels. The labels featured on three of Messina Hof’s latest wines – Abounding (Dry Red Blend), Vitality (Dry White Blend) and Emblaze (Sweet Red Wine) – bring to life core themes in its winemaking process to offer customers a one-of-a-kind AR experience.
