Messina Hof at Rodeo Uncorked!® Roundup and Best Bites Competition

We are so excited to showcase our Vineyard Cuisine™ and wine selections at this year’s Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s 2023 Rodeo Uncorked!® Roundup and Best Bites Competition at NRG Center this Sunday. We will be serving our wine and Messina Hof Harvest Green Winery & Kitchen’s mini twice-baked potatoes with short ribs and banana bread pudding bites!

The Best Bites Competition is one of the largest gourmet food events in the world, following the Rodeo Uncorked!® International Wine Competition and highlighting more than 450 award-winning wines and over 100 signature dishes from the area’s top restaurants and culinary institutions. Guests have the opportunity to interact with chefs and winery representatives and help decide who takes home the “People’s Choice Award!”

The International Wine Competition was held on November 11 – 13th at the NRG Center. The competition featured 3,071 entries from 18 countries, including Argentina, Bulgaria, France, Israel, Italy, South Africa and Spain. Of those entries, 531 entries were from Texas wineries, and 160 entries came from the year’s featured region, Australia.

We are honored to bring home the 2023 title of Top Texas Winery and look forward to adding another Houston Saddle to display! We have been a consistent award winner at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ competition, having won Top Texas Winery before, making this our 8th saddle. We’ve been making Texas wine for 45 years and are grateful for each one. We look forward to continuing to deliver the best Texas wine in our favorite state!

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo promotes agriculture annually, by providing family-friendly experiences that educates and entertains the public, supports Texas youth, showcases Western heritage and provides year-round educational support within the community.
