Messina Hof Winery Sweeps Awards at People’s Choice at 28th Annual Grapefest®

Grapevine, TX – September 2014 – Messina Hof Winery and Resort won three Gold Medals (First Place Awards) and one Silver Medal (Second Place Award) in the People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic during the 28th Annual GrapeFest®. The popular competition was hosted Sept. 11-14, 2014, at the Main Street in Historic Downtown Grapevine and is the largest consumer judged wine competition in the United States.
“We are ecstatic to once again be awarded top distinction by the people,” said Messina Hof Winery Chief Executive Officer Paul M. Bonarrigo. “This honor further confirms our commitment to producing wine for the people and sets the tone for our new Grapevine location opening before the end of the year.”
Messina Hof won three Gold (First Place) and one Silver (Second Place) in the categories of:
·Gold (First Place) – White (Dry) – for its Private Reserve Chardonnay, 2012
·Gold (First Place) – White (Semi-Sweet) – for its Father and Son Riesling, 2012
·Gold (First Place) – Red (Light) – for its Private Reserve Pinot Noir, 2012
·Silver (Second Place) – White (Sweet) – for its Late Harvest Riesling Angel, NV
GrapeFest® is the largest wine festival in the Southwest region and Messina Hof has been participating since its inception 28 years ago. This year the People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic featured 154 Texas wines from 43 participating Texas wineries.
