Messina hof Winery Sweeps People’s Choice Awards at 31st Annual Grapefest


BRYAN, TEXAS – September 2017 – Messina Hof Winery won four First Place awards out of four wine entries in the People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic during the 31st Annual GrapeFest – A Texas Wine Experience in Historic Downtown Grapevine. The competition took place September 14, 15, 16 and 17, and is the largest consumer-judged wine competition in the United States. Messina Hof was the only winery honored with four First Place awards, winning more than anyone else in the competition.

Messina Hof won four First Place Awards in the categories of:

·Whites (Off Dry) – for its Father and Son Riesling 2016, Texas High Plains

·Whites (Sweet) – for its Angel Riesling, Texas

·Reds (Light) – for its Private Reserve Pinot Noir 2016, Texas

·Reds (Medium) – for its GSM, Texas

GrapeFest is the largest wine festival in the Southwest region of the United States, and Messina Hof has been participating since its beginnings 31 years ago. This year’s People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic featured 146 Texas wines from 39 Texas wineries.
