The Vines Are Looking Beautiful

07.31.13

The vineyards in Bryan and in Fredericksburg at Messina Hof’s winery locations are looking beautiful. ThePaul & Paulvines appear to be ready to produce a bountiful crop for the 2013 vintage. The Lenoir grapes are growing heavier, and look to be ready to transition to véraison (meaning the “onset of ripening”) any day now. Soon you will see dark purple berries on the vine!

All these vineyard changes have the Messina Hof team ramping up for Harvest 2013 activities. The vineyard and production staff is preparing the tanks, crush pad and wine making areas for the busiest part of the year. The hospitality teams are working hard to ensure that our guests this Harvest will have the best experience possible. We cannot wait to share Harvest with you! We have daytime options for picking, stomping, a tour, harvest feast and food/wine pairing classes. Nighttime events include Murder Mystery Dinners, a dance party, spectacular culinary experiences and themed nights, and then the elegant Grand Finale Dinner rounds out the festivities on August 3rd. I will be hosting the food and wine pairing sessions during Daytime Harvest, so come out and join me for a great afternoon of sampling!

Paul V. and Paul M. went on a road trip earlier this month to pick up and install all of the new winery equipment for Messina Hof Hill Country in Fredericksburg. Mark your calendars – August 10th will be the inaugural harvest for Messina Hof Hill Country. Our Lenoir vines will be picked and stomped that day, and we invite the public to join us to celebrate a Messina Hof Hill Country first! We will finish the rest of the day with a music festival and other great events. Get your tickets before the sell out!
