Wine Society of Texas blends wine at Messina Hof

The Wine Society of Texas came to party at Messina Hof this weekend. 
It was an amazing event. BBQ and a barrel tasting kicked off the weekend. Paul V sampled four varieties from oak as a sneak peek of the blending lab to come. Following a tour and lunch, guests from Midland, Houston, and Dallas competed in a blending lab.
It was an amazing event. BBQ and a barrel tasting kicked off the weekend. Paul V sampled four varieties from oak as a sneak peek of the blending lab to come. Following a tour and lunch, guests from Midland, Houston, and Dallas competed in a blending lab. Eight teams of four or five were given four different wines and an empty bottle. Each group was challenged to create a unique blend and name it. The eight blends were then brown-bagged and poured into cups. Guests ranked the eight wines. The top three wines received medals. The “Bad Livers” from Midland won grand prize with their “Red Aggie”. Congratulations!
