It’s That Time Again – Award Season!

02.10.12

It’s that time again – Award season! Just like movies and television, the wine world has revealed the award winners in a number of prestigious wine competitions. We are so proud to see that Messina Hof wines continue to be recognized on a national and international level for our spectacular quality wines. This Friday, February 10th the Bonarrigo family will be in San Antonio to celebrate Messina Hof’s win as “Best of Herd” at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo Wine Competition. Our beloved Cedar Crest Cabernet Franc 2009 stole the show as “Best of Class” and twenty more of Messina Hof’s wines were awarded medals. (click here to read the press release)

Next week the Bonarrigo family will be traveling to San Marcos for the annual TWGGA conference where we will meet with our fellow Texas wine and grape growing partners. Then on Sunday, February 19th we will head on over to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Best Bites to celebrate Messina Hof’s huge win as “Top Texas Wine” for our Solera Sherry. Messina Hof was also awarded another nineteen prominent awards at the HLSR International Wine Competition for our best vintages. If you are coming to any of this week’s events, we look forward to seeing you!

To top things off, Messina Hof recently received word that the Solera Sherry was awarded a gold medal at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition along with six other silver and bronze medals. The San Antonio Wine Festival also released its award winners this week, and Messina Hof was awarded with a gold medal for the Private Reserve Cabernet Franc 2009 along with eight other medals. So many blessings! Reserve a few bottles (or a few cases!) of our amazing wines by checking out our online shopping cart or calling our retail room at (979) 778-9463 ext. 223.

Paul V. and Merrill arrived home from their Italian getaway earlier this week, so keep a look out for more pictures, blogs, Facebook updates and Tweets about their trip. Check out their blogs from their trip – click here! They were thrilled to come home and see the new Vintage House layout. Come by and check out the new restaurant experience at the Vintage House now that the new barrels are in the main dining room. We have also added a number of unique antique tables to the restaurant that enhance the romantic dining atmosphere.
